IRIS+ offers a variety of detections suitable for different types of cameras.

Read below to learn which settings best suit certain camera types:

## Configuring a camera for event generation

A camera (or sensor) in IRIS+ Enterprise is typically configured to customize how events are generated and shown in the Monitor module and/or through an integration endpoint connected to an external ingress source.

Each sensor

## Anonymization settings

IRIS+ today offers anonymization support for certain types of cameras:

| **Camera type** | **Anonymization setting** |
| --------------- | -------------------------------- |
| CCD | Yes for both grayscale and color |
| Fisheye | No |
| Thermal | No |
| PTZ | No |

Additionally, certain features and rules will perform differently if anonymization is on

| **Feature or rule ** | **Recommendation** |
| ------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Investigation feature | Best to not turn on anonymization if investigation is enabled |
| Face recognition | Best to not turn on anonymization if face recognition is enabled |
| GPU-based rules | Best to not turn on anonymization for cameras using these particular rules |

## Full-frame recording

Full-frame recording controls whether IRIS+ stores the full recorded video stream for a camera on the Edge device, rather than only event metadata and crops.

Full-frame recording is a **prerequisite for video playback in the Investigate and Case views**. When it is enabled, selecting a search or investigation result plays back the corresponding recorded footage. When it is disabled, investigation results are still returned, but no video clip is available to play.

**To enable full-frame recording:**

1. Select the camera in the tree view.
2. Open the camera's settings.
3. Enable the **Full-frame recording** option.

**Considerations:**

- Full-frame recording increases storage usage on the Edge device. Plan retention and storage capacity accordingly.
- Enable it on cameras you intend to use for investigations or forensic search.
